Filling journals let me put pieces of myself together in ways I would never have been able to otherwise. Within those pages, I danced with God in a way that didn’t require me to follow any rhythm. As I married, spent over ten years in social service capacity, became Mom to the three most awesome kids I know (I trust you might have your own bias), and wiggled my way through and eventually out of church, my eyes were opened to all the divine that exists in the people that God created and called Good. People matter. Their stories matter. And as much as I love scribbling on my own paper and will continue to do so, I’m also going to encourage others to do the same – or sing it or cook it or podcast it or video it. My format is writing – what’s yours?
